I grew up with the 9-win Mavericks of the early ‘90s so basketball was somewhere below Chechen soccer in my interests until Dirk, Nash and Fin came along. The day I axed Magic organized play from my shop was a beautiful one. Cardfight Vanguard and Yugioh players are worse in some ways but Magic is by far the most toxic group I’ve encountered. Foulmouthed, horrible attitude, won’t buy anything unless you’re willing to beat the lowest online price, won’t even buy snacks…

Of course the excesses of the 60s and 70s rock icons have to be reconciled against some really awesome music. I think most LA Hair metal from the 80s can safely be discarded with no damage to culture.
