I read that as a typo intended as "…doing some detective work of their own once again by visiting…" with "once again" modifying the detective work rather than the visit.

I only remember one clone on DS9…

Also pre-Disney.

That was pre-Disney.

Hilariously Awesome.

It wasn't a deflection. He threw his baton into the light.

She grew up there to some extent before moving to Miami and later New York, but perhaps she was younger when they left than I had been led to believe. Thanks for the info.

He's credited as Stone, so…

Judith Delgado, who plays Elena Cardenas, is Puerto Rican. It's very unlikely that she isn't a native speaker of Spanish. Perhaps the differences are comparable to those between Castilian and Mexican Spanish.

That has infuriated me.

Another difference is that a kusari-gama has a weight on the other end of the chain, while a kyoketsu-shoge has a ring.

Elena was certainly fridged, but she did at least have agency, which is really uncommon with the trope. She chose to fight a violent slumlord, so while she was killed (in part) explicitly to provoke Matt, it was her own choices that led her into Fisk's crosshairs.
