And you’re the one (intentionally?) missing the point and being obtuse, so guess I’ll just adjust my opinion until it matches yours. (To clarify, the point was that discouraging people to discuss these issues - either by saying their views mean little or nothing - doesn’t help us get any closer to an answer, a learned

The ghost of easy e said “It means you can offer very little of value in this discussion.” Ok, he’s not saying I can’t discuss it but he’s implying that it would be pointless for me to do so.

Exactly, I think people just assume that today is right.

Agree. As I said, I think intent plays a large part as well.

Also, don’t think anyone is clamouring for Song of the South

I have to disagree with your first sentence. If not everyone is allowed to discuss these issues then we are never going to learn. If you’re saying white people can have no valid opinion on racist issues, then why would white people want to discuss this and thus learn. We don’t experience racism first hand, so the only

Agree

I wasn’t specifically talking about this film and don’t in any way condone brown face. It was more a general comment. Yes, I’m white (and straight and male) and therefore realise I don’t have the personal insight into this and happy to be educated. But doesn’t mean I can’t discuss the issue.

Everyone draws their own line. What I don’t agree with is people assuming that everyone else should feel the same as them - we are all willing to accept different levels of bullshit in our lives.

I really struggle with the whole thing of holding past movies/art with today’s strict moral guidelines. Yes, we shouldn’t just accept racism/sexism etc in old movies because accepting it as ok back then allows people to accept it today to an extent. But, we do also have to realise that things we might class as racist,

I think I’ve read that it was an intentional rip off as they couldn’t secure the rights for LOTR so just did their own version.

Always loved Willow growing up and while it’s aged badly, the idea behind it and world it created are still great. And yes for Chris Evans as Mad Martigan.

The plot synopsis could be any Bond movie really. Doesn’t tell us much - sounds like Goldeneye. Maybe they are remaking it, hence the villa?

I’m in UK, so in theory we already pay for one (BBC through licence fee). Then we have Amazon Prime but mainly for free, fast delivery. I’ve got Netflix as the only streaming service I pay out right for. But I also buy content though Google Play and Chili. And I’d maybe by a month pass for Now TV to watch Sky TV

Okay. Or as the cool kids say, OK

This song was released 18 years ago. How does it still have cultural relevancy now? (Says the 38 year old man)

I’m not going to start using ‘Imma'

Better than Expen-day-bles and Jingle all the Day. Sorry.

Haha. To be honest, think Marvel talked themselves into a corner. What Thanos was really after was to reduce the level of humans who were causing over population - but they can’t say humans because aliens. So then what? Conscious beasts - but what classes as conscious, especially in a universe with strange creatures.
