I never saw grilles as design elements, just functionally required for cooling. New BMWs have grille shutters that close for aerodynamics when cooling isn’t needed. Make a statement by eliminating grilles instead tacking on huge, black, plastic slats.

Does it have anything to do with high repair costs? Something that runs can hardly be found costing less than $10k?  Or are there market forces like demand driving up prices?

Little black car wants to play, but the little white car doesn’t.
