It’s crazy just how little of a step back he takes while still being able to generate that much velocity. Insanity. But it makes his mechanics so repeatable, and it’s so gorgeous.

From your lips to God’s ears.

SNY’s been using a similar angle in their broadcasts, and it’s stunningly beautiful. It really lets you gauge velocity, and just how absurd it is that Major League hitters can do what they do.

Same. I was thinking as I listened to this, “Like where?”

In response to, “How is Bernie going to pay for all of it?!?!”:

In an aesthetic kindness (and as a way to avoid the colorblindness confusion of last season), it appears the NFL will not inflict color-on-color games upon audiences

I was there, and man, what a night! Matt Bertani (the Isles video coach who decided to review the Ekblad goal) deserves a raise. Turned the whole game.

“Yo, thank God we’re going to convince people they need to drop $20 apiece on this to see it in 3D!”

This. A lot of not great possession teams in the East this year. That’s why I have a Caps/Isles ECF in my bracket (also I’m an Isles fan and a homer, so that, too).

Why do I feel like Kevin Costner was at the helm of the Rams for this trade?

But in two months, if there is no parade down Broadway, no Sports Illustrated special edition blaring “BACK-TO-BACK” from the cover, it will all be for naught, and instead they’ll be remembered for what they failed to achieve.

He doesn’t need any of it — the money, the attention, the camaraderie — enough to play by someone else’s rules.

Just gotta get a ‘W’ today and everyone will feel better. Walker’s essentially the same hitter Murphy is (check their Fangraphs pages. It’s creepily similar). I loved Murph, and it doesn’t help seeing the Nats get off to a 5-1 start with him hitting the snot out of the ball, but it’s such a small sample size.

And Wilmer Becerra, who is still just 21 and hit .290/.342/.423 at Savannah last year. If he takes a step forward at high-A this year, he could turn into one of their better outfield prospects.

Actually, that’s not true at all. They scored the most runs in the National League after July 31 last season. It’s essentially the same lineup, replacing Wilmer Flores/Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy with Asdrubal Cabrera and Neil Walker, which is, at worst, a wash, at best, an upgrade.

More like Edmonton and Long Island, but I’ll give ya that if Edmonton wasn’t the force it was, Calgary would have won more than one.

Right. And I agree Minnesota probably won’t play more than five or six more games than the teams that finished outside the playoffs. I’m just saying people love to play the narrative game. “Psssht, they backed in!” Okay, but it really doesn’t mean anything.

Both hockey and basketball would really benefit from a season-shortening. Hockey really gets hosed, because they never have the spotlight to themselves at the most important times of the year. I’m an Isles and Mets fan. The Isles opener was on the same night as Game 1 of the NLDS, and when the Isles’ season ends, the
