Sometimes you get the bait, sometimes you become the bait.

10% of profits would not be 10% of the box office gross. Likely the studio would have found a way to claim Avatar lost money.

Nah, thats working big to small. Snakes on a Space Station

Shelby did something similar with the 1986 and 1987 Shelby GLHS models. The base cars (Omni/Charger) only had an 85 MPH speedo. Instead of creating a new speedo, they just added a little sticker at the bottom of the speedo that continued around to 135 mph.

You may feel like you’re stating a harmless preference, but our preferences are inevitably influenced by our society’s long history of white supremacy, particularly in beauty standards.

I just hope they retain Death’s style; it’s about time Black goths got their time in the shade.

I’d rather Death look like she did in the comics, but meh. That’s life.
Desire, on the other hand, was non-binary before anyone was using the word non-binary.  It’s kind of a character trait.

At first, I thought you were making a political analogy.

Definitely a historic ship. Most Atlantic crossings and I believe it held the record for fastest crossing for a time.

Even better if he had a son who could be “his editor” and come out with dozens of posthumous books under the name of the father (Yes, The Silmarillion was a real unpublished work by J.R.R. Tolkien, but pretty much all the other books that Christopher “edited” weren’t really).

Life is messy, and I think your perspective is totally valid. <3

This is tough for me. I’m an adoptee, from one of her orphanages. So, this idea of her as a saint was a huge foundational belief throughout my childhood/teenage years. My parents still lay my survival (abandoned at a MofC chapter house in Western India) squarely at her feet.

So much more sexualized than just being naked. I see a lot of the male equivalent (cheesy extremely skimpy ‘80s swimwear) at the (nude) beach (shout out to my fellow gays). Tangentially related, it’s hilarious watching someone put on a thong/skimpy bikini over a g-string, to leave the beach.

Nude is more practical, and far less provocative, than any of these suits.  The only thing that makes me think “nope” about nude beaches is environmental (I don’t relish the idea of sunburnt bits, or sand and glass and critters either).  And most North Americans who go to a nude beach for the first time are horrified

I’m not a prude, I have no problem with nudity or anything, but these just don’t look right- they’re aesthetically unpleasant.

Anyone here played the Infocom game Suspended?

Dammit. I agree with you both. I NEED TO BE ANGRY WITH ONE OF YOU!

There is nothing “obvious” one way or the other in this speciic case, but apart from that, I see your point. It’s distressing to the the AVClub rate so high a documentary that openly looks at only one side of a dirty, complex, emotional story, and it’s distressing to see the tweet-level crowd hurling itself at a
