In real life “going in there” will at worst lead to a dusty basement with some rats. Somehow people expect the protagonist in a horror movie to know they are in a horror movie and act accordingly.

If books count, I’d vote for the silo in Hugh Howey’s “Wool”. It’s supposed to become a TV-series too.

But this is totally different, it’s a *gay* vampire. It’s like Ghostbusters but with women, a sure hit.

Dolphins also use it as a “finger” to manipulate objects.

Before hereditary kings it was common to elect them. Usually not everyone got to vote, and you were limited to candidates from leading families, but they were elected. If you can elect a king, why not a queen?

Next step is for someone to figure out how to be invulnerable for a second so he can survive the explosion.

Sky Captain was fun if you had read a bunch of the old pulps it was a pastiche on or seen some really old TV-series, otherwise it must have felt pretty silly. It also had a unique visual style.

Just because you know where you are going doesn’t mean you know the best route there. There has to be a first time, after all. You could also just be out sight seeing at random, but then you don’t need instructions.

What is kind of annoying are all the redemption stories that end up with the former villain heroically sacrificing himself. It is such a convenient way for the author to avoid how to deal with him afterwards. Are all former sins forgiven and he rides off happily into the sunset or is he thrown into jail?

Isn’t it shown that when yong he tried to be a good cop, got dragged down by other corrupt cops and regained hope after meeting Reese and Finch?
Those two are redemption stories too, as is Root, although Root is redeemed only because “God” tells her to.

Exactly!c Crypto is nature red in claw and tooth, survival of the fittest. If you get scammed it’s not the fault of the market or crypto, you just weren’t good enough so it’s your own fault.

Just split the draft into two books and call the second ADoS. It won’t end the story, but it’ll let them sell twice as many books.

Martin spent too many years teasing how the next book was almost finished. Broke too many deadlines. Had he just said “I have a writers block on this series, I’ll get back to it when I figure out how to continue” it would have been much easier to accept.

Goff really should have understood that talking about peace only when you are locked up in a jar or running out of allies isn’t credible.

Post credit scene is a whole row of containers with Peacemaker clones so they can kill him off last episode of every season.

Easier to have her killed if she isn’t mentioned anywhere else, or even if you don’t the lack of plot armor adds to suspense.

Helicopters are a lot better suited to take down slow flying reptiles.

I love how even the veterinary staff was ready to join. That’s a proper pep talk!

I read a short story about a man who found a flying saucer on his land. Called the military about a strange downed aircraft with cyrillic letters and got a really fast response.

Ín the ending of the movie Charlie was bullet proof, she just burned the bullets. Heavier weapons might have worked, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
