Tweak rules! Mod! Use codes! Save Scum! Dust off the damn Game Genie! Life is too damn short to live with an outcome you don’t like or a game that doesn’t suit your ambitions or the narrative you want to see.

pippin is the bard. Merry is like a fighter, maybe with a rogue dip. could go with gnome or halfling for race, both would be fairly accurate.

I’ve been playing a Beastmaster Ranger as my MC and absolutely shredding. The changes to the beasts at level 5 in particular make it really come online.

What I’m seeing sure seems like a lot of people who’ve never played D&D really mad this game has accurately captured D&D.

Article fails to mention how some genuinely AMAZING scenes unfold on failed dice rolls. I have intentionally failed rolls by save scumming to see alternate outcomes vs successful rolls and sometimes those failed rolls lead to really great moments / scenes or very dramatic events. For example, very early in the game on

You really don’t though. If you fail the check on the dog’s collar, you don’t go into combat, you can try multiple things, most of them not being combat. For the goblin example, whether or not you succeed at throwing poop, you go into combat (you know...because you threw poop at them...).

Because, at it’s core, BG3 is a D&D game.  And in D&D, skill checks are performed with dice rolls.  It’s a fundamental part of the ruleset.

Actually they used the most recent up date to the 5E rules where racial bonuses are no longer a thing. Instead during character generation you get to pick one stat that gets a +2 and another that gets a +1. Its done to move away from racial bonuses. Now different races mostly just change your appearance and give

Yes, I’m sure you know the hardware much better than the team developing the game for it, or the MS reps helping with the port process.

Same, though I’m still going to pick up Shadow Gambit day one just to support the devs and the genre.

Man considering how much of ARR is basically about going to Indigenous-coded societies and killing anyone who practices their local religion,

The rulesets are completely different so I’m not sure that’s true. Unless you think that they’re the same because they’re both turn-based...

FYI the free trial doesn’t have a 30-day time limit, it’s unrestricted in that regard

I’ve seen T-posed action figures being furiously bashed against each other that more closely resembled actual human sex than most NSFW games.

I mean, physically awkward because of the suits...probably? But the whole point of intimacy coordinators is to help ensure it’s not awkward.

What they don’t mention is the intimacy coordinator was also extremely helpful in making the bear wearing a motion capture suit feel comfortable on set.

I just don’t get how resetting the same dungeon over and over again is “fun”. Like I know it’s somewhat ridiculous to claim “my immersion” in Diablo with it’s combination of a story line in which you are the sole hero who saved the world combined with the ability to see and team up with a bunch of other “sole heros

It never ceases to amaze me that people care so much about footwear that they have to be this adamantly against people wearing something they feel comfortable with...
