I think there is an audience for that sort of experience. Just look at the love people have for text-heavy CRPGs.
For those who don’t know, the “grape quality” thing is an in-joke referencing Yoshida’s other game, Final Fantasy XIV. When the Endwalker expansion launched in 2021, there was a vineyard in one of the starting areas with a bug in the grape models. They were supposed to have a sliding poly resolution based on distance…
I’m really surprised it wasn’t required - it’s emotional, impactful and contains a lot of really distinct lore for the game.
In fact, if you do this early it breaks some of the later reveals - you already know some key pieces of information that some of the characters aren’t aware of. Though I haven’t finished this…

Yeah, and Starfield is singleplayer. Most of Redfalls issues ultimately stem from the inclusion of multiplayer clearly having caused knock on issues with development.
