So this article caused me to completely change my plans for today…I just finished the watching the Blu-Ray for the umpteenth time. I know it has been said in the comments already, but Chingachgook is easily the boss of all bosses. Most bosses give no fucks…Chingachgook, simply, has no fucks to give.

There is a bigger difference between the theatrical cut and the first directors cut (the one on DVD) than between the TC and the current 'definitive' directors cut (on Blu-Ray). The latter is essentially the TC with a few additions, and is likely the best you'll be able to find for the foreseeable future. Don't bother

Yea, I realize I opened myself up to some shots with that statement, but I'll stand by it, mostly…I'll pivot and go with a music example. Any band where members hated each other (or at least had nothing in common off-stage) are always the best.

Agreed. Mann and Cameron are immortal in my book. If someone were to introduce a film to me with something like "The director was such a great guy! Everyone on set loved him", the film would have no chance of being any good.

John Milius cannot be mentioned enough.

Definitely a Mann thing. He made some wacky changes to Thief as well for the initial LD/DVD run. Thankfully those changes were almost entirely reversed for the latest Blu-Ray releases. And any changes that were kept (or changed yet again) are either not significant or are positive moves.

Stockholm Syndrome is a hellavuh drug.

Love this film…like Mann's best work it only gets better with age. Atmosphere for days. And the Blu-Ray fixes a lot of the unnecessary changes that appeared with the DVD release, so go buy it.

I'll take a lesser Mann over most other directors, but he has fallen far on the re-watchability index with me over the years (which is basically the primary motivator behind my list). Not as far as, say, John Carpenter, but still.

I want to play too!

This game is a lot of fun, and I don't normally like big action/small story type games. The visuals and mechanics are rock solid, and while some jokes are lame, there are so many fired at you that only a self-serious grump wouldn't laugh at least a few times. I only bought it because Destiny got way too boring way too

PUT THE HEADPHONES ON!!!

It was for charity!

Ok, I'll try this again since being helpful and providing links is a problem apparently:

In the midst of reveling in all this classic Shield talk, I want to recommend another show that fans will (probably) love…Braquo. French production (so, subtitled), very similar to The Shield (close-knit UC cops that operate in the grey), but is different enough to still be compelling. You'll suss out the equivalents

Younger? Ha. Bless your heart.

The actual skeletons themselves were well done on a technical level, but as a whole (mostly due to the fireball tossing leaf child) it seemed like a diversion into a different show entirely. I get that there is more "magic" in the realm than is apparent to most of the populace, but to pour it so heavy in that one

-HELLZ YEAH TEAM STANNIS! I was expecting him to show up with his shiny new army (somewhere, anywhere) and he did not disappoint. I still think he is the best option for king, especially with ultimate bro Daavos at his side. Maybe dial back the people burning thing a little, but otherwise, he is my guy.

Agreed…I just hope he doesn't think it is a situation he needs to resolve himself, because I don't think it will end well for him. Hard to believe there is only one more episode!

If anyone told me this would be on almost equal standing with Game Of Thrones in my "please hurry up and get to the next episode already dammit" obsession just over 9 weeks ago I would have never believed them. Just remarkable television.
