Why is his silly character even in the next movie? He’s just a parody of a villain. At this point, I would have preferred Ep IX scrap all non-essential characters who didn’t work in the previous two films, and give us something fresh. I guess that was asking too much.

This is a direct quote (and I accept your apology for doubting the stupidity of my state legislators):

So many Title IX problems stem from athletics. It’s the “athletes are gods and we’ll forgive them anything” mentality. I don’t know when/why sports became THE most important thing in the world (look at how many colleges’ top paid officials are coaches).  But here we are.

In my state, is it an unlawful practice for an employer to discriminate against any individual because of “arrest or court record.”  My state cares more about protecting criminals than victims (or future victims).  It’s possible the law exists because the lawmakers themselves have arrest and court records.

I’ll never stop being amazed that scientists can study something that is 250 million light years from Earth.

Even though GotG #1 is one of my favorite movies, after seeing how bad #2 was, I was actually planing to skip #3. I don’t know or care what Gunn’s tweets were, I’m only basing this on how bad GotG #2 was. Bringing in a new director might actually be a good thing for the franchise. Look at how Waititi vastly improved

seemingly undefeatable security” — to me, this whole sequence was a joke, and my emotional response was exasperation. The CIA fell for a fake fire alarm? And the air duct right above the CIA’s most important computer is large enough and strong enough to hold two grown men? And the alarm that is supposed to detect

But Gunn’s old tweets became recent news, and that’s what Disney is reacting to. Maybe at the time they were made it wasn’t a big deal. Maybe it wasn’t even a big deal at the time Gunn was hired. And maybe it wasn’t even a deal 6 months ago. But TODAY, in the changing climate of Hollywood (at least, I sincerely HOPE

What was the name of her hotel in Cartagena again?

they moved forward because he was talented and who they wanted to hire

There aren’t many Jedi in the OT, so Kenobi stood out just because of that. But also, Alec Guinness gave one of the best performances in the OT, and Ewan McGregor gave one of the best performances in the prequels - so it’s easy to project our appreciation of the performances into an appreciation of the character. But

Pooh belongs with children, not adults. I would have preferred something like the “Peanuts” cartoons, where we never see any adults.

The statement says they physically altered their species to be larger, *just* so they can defeat humans -- even though they were already physically large enough to do so. That isn’t “dumb” to you? Then maybe this movie was tailor made for you. I hope you enjoy it.

there’s a much larger Predator, a “roided up” one, according to Black. He suggested that the Predators made this alteration to themselves on their home planet just to be sure they could defeat humans this time.”

I like the Paddington movies, and I would have given the Christopher Robin movie a try — except I saw in an ad they are using Disney’s version of Tigger, not the original. I fucking HATE Disney Tigger!  So it’s a skip.

“L.A. Confidential” is a MUCH better movie than book.

I know we’re not supposed to take The Meg seriously, but at this point they made the shark so big that it’s not even scary anymore. I mean, look at it in the posters - the amount of energy that thing would expend trying to eat a human simply isn’t worth it. It would be like negative calories.

I will never, ever, until the day I die, be able to get “Blockbuster Video - Wow, what a difference!” out of my head. No matter how many meds I’ve tried.

rarely have humans been lucky enough to see them happen in real time”

I wonder if somewhere, someone else owns the phrase “Ralph Wrecks the Internet” (like a cyber-squatter)?
