I loved S5 except for the really disappointing finale. Shameless is one of my favorite shows on TV, so I'm pumped for this.
I love this, but it's so old…I saw this years ago. Great Job, Internet of 2011!
Yeah, I enjoyed The Station Agent (although I don't love it like many people seem to). I still gotta see Win Win, too.
I haven't seen Spotlight yet, but the fact that this guy went from The Cobbler to a possible Best Picture winner in the space of a year is pretty impressive.
Slight step down from the past couple weeks, but still solid. Tom Cavanagh's first line reading of the "I've thought of you as a kind of son" line was gold.
I'm not exactly sure why, but "For those counting, that's three kids and no sex for Rafael" made me laugh harder than almost anything else in the show. That line, paired with Rafael's expression and the "#RafaelTheVirgin," was priceless.
I've especially been annoyed by writers crying 'table-setting' when the episode is specifically moving the plot forward. Just because an episode is clearly building towards something happening down the road doesn't mean the act of getting there is inherently 'just setup.'
I'd say it's payoff enough that Felicity and Laurel have emotional moments getting back their loved ones. Honestly, I don't care at all if there's any real plot payoff to these subplots if they're fun to watch, and I've enjoyed them, so I don't really care.
Honestly, this season is by far the most likable Oliver has ever been. It's making the show significantly more fun for me.
The way I see it, there's nothing inherently table-setting/setup-y about it if it's something that would naturally happen to the characters. For example, Laurel naturally would want Sara back, and Felicity would naturally want to look for Ray, so even though it's setting up Legends of Tomorrow, it makes sense to…
Really liked her in What If, so this is cool. I still gotta watch Ruby Sparks.
Last episode and this episode have been wonderful. I loved how much comedy there was in this episode, and how infectiously fun it was - that training montage was great, and then the badly acting superhero/supervillain roles during the fake Barry/Linda fight was hilarious. I also just really liked Linda being…
I adore 50/50, tho.
That Jane the Virgin synopsis looks exciting. I've always wanted to see more of Lina, and she's a good character to bring more to the forefront to lessen the burden of some of the main characters (not that the show seems to be losing any steam at creating plot).
I'm hoping that if Glenn comes back, it'll only be to a more brutal death later in the season. I don't see what's so risky about killing him off; he's pretty bland, if generally likable.
Oddly enough, I had this same thought.
I don't think I'd be as mad as some people, partly because I thought Glenn was going to be the next person to die. There hadn't been a major death in a while, and he's always been a kind of blank slate, so he seemed like a solid choice to kill off. In a way, him surviving would be the more surprising outcome (for me).
I was hoping to see Paranormal Activity 3 on here. The idea of putting the camera on a panning fan was a simple but amazing trick.
Loved Crystal Fairy and love Wiig. Also, I recently saw Adebimpe in Seven Chinese Brothers, which I enjoyed. Maybe I'll check this out.
