Drunk posting is sooooo bad...it never comes off as funny as it sounds in your head when you type it....I mean or so I have heard...ahem...

I’d never heard of this woman. I’m fangirling pretty hard right now.

I never heard of Lozen. Now that I looked her up, I think I want to find a character in my book to name after her. Holy shit.

Exactly. She is a new mother home on maternity leave posting pictures to Facebook about her newborn. What’s their excuse that they have so much idle time that this is the hill they wish to die on.

I want to be friends with your sister.

The irony of course is this group of women had plenty of time to let this bother them to the point of coming together to write a letter and send it.

It’s not the event - it’s the frequency.

As we speak, some Silicon Valley intern is writing code to figure out how to weave filtering algorithms into all the subtle, social media misteps like this one so that that we’ll never leave. #hotelfacebook

Yeah, I don’t give a fig about what people eat for lunch or their new shoes but I just ignore or maybe even supportively comment “Hey, looking good, I don’t know how you can wear such high heels, I’m jelly”

One out of my vagina and one ripped out of my guts after I was sliced open while awake. This will never stop blowing my mind.

Jesus Christ, what a bunch of butts. I don’t have kids and I don’t want kids and I don’t really like kids but I do my best to nod along supportively when people talk about their kids or show me pictures or whatever because that is basic human courtesy and also I guess it’s really nice that people love their kids? It’s

Your post is perfect. Yes, people on Facebook can be hella annoying, sometimes ESPECIALLY the moms. I myself am probably guilty of that on occasion. But that’s what “unfollow” was made for! Don’t want to see but can’t unfriend because of too many mutuals?! Perfect! Coworker that takes petty disputes too far? Yes!!

Fair warning: Chief Mankiller was not unproblematic. She’d be an amazing symbol and is no more problematic than most of the dead guys we’ve got on our money, but she was definitely not perfect.

Agree completely. I was just reading about the Trail of Tears the other day. I learn something new (and horrible) about it every time.

Absolutely. No complaints here. But of the women on that list, I’m definitely Team Chief Mankiller.

Wait, you want to replace the brawling, slave-owning, murderous rage addict that was responsible for the Trail of Tears with...dare I say it...a woman?

Nothing could be more appropriate than replacing Jackson with a Cherokee woman. Absolutely nothing.

During a recent transaction, an elderly woman handed me a twenty and said, with eyes a’twinklin’ “Did you hear they might put a woman on the 20 dollar bill? I’d love to see that before I go...” And then we both melted into a puddle of feelings.

This exact picture or GTFO.

I take issue with putting Rosa Parks on the shortlist over Sojourner Truth, but whatever. That there’s any real momentum, and that they’re focusing on women of color, is nice to see.
