@unik: That's what I'm thinking too. Alex Lindsay (from the Pixel Corps and Macbreak weekly) has often expressed his dissatisfaction in the lack of a "legitimate" way to stream an iPhone/iPad to a larger display and that one has to jailbreak to do so.

I don't get why the practice has been more widely adopted either. The GBA linkup on the Gamecube was really cool, if not incredibly inconvenient.
