@OMG! Toast!: "I don't want something to play games on. That's what the iPhone is for."

@johnspieth: The price you pay isn't necessarily something that would come from Apple. It is absolutely possible to screw up your phone by jailbreaking. I've seen/heard about phones continually rebooting, battery life decreasing significantly, huge amounts of phone lag, etc. I'd hope that the majority of users who

@Paradise: "copy/paste and mms come to mind"

@Tetsuooooooo: "99% of everyone I have ever met who had an iPhone loved it"

@CaptainJack: I could not agree more. I'm tired of hearing about iPhone users complaining about the phone's lack of features and the iron fist of Steve Jobs. If you want your phone to do more, just jailbreak it and deal with the consequences (if any... likely you won't have any problems). If you're not comfortable

As a completely satisfied Android convert (coming from iPhone 3G), I wholeheartedly agree with this article. In fact, I hope this Verizon thing turns out to be just another rumor. I'd prefer Android to thrive even more than it already is.

I don't really understand why you're giving them a lower score for "willingly censoring results" in China under point number 8. China would not have allowed them to operate in the country without the censorship in the beginning, so isn't it better to have some of the service available than none? Seems to me that

@TheCrudMan: Yeah, addressed quickly if you have your device jailbroken (PDF exploit). Otherwise, you're at Apple's mercy until they see fit to fix it.

@Standish: Amen to that. Back when I had an iPhone on AT&T I hung on every word of these rumors. Now that I'm on Android on Verizon though, I'd rather the iPhone stay right where it is.

@da-vid: "The 3G got 3.0 and even a limited version of 4.0."

I foresee a tell-all book and an appearance on Oprah.

@da-vid: Well I don't know what version of Android you're talking about, but the version on my Droid X is nothing like you descirbe, except for the menus, and I'll agree with you on that point.

@da-vid: Couldn't disagree more. My Droid X looks way better than my iPhone ever did. I had it jailbroken and themed, lockscreen and all. I liked it well enough, but any slight change meant I had to spend a while fixing the damn theme so it didn't look all messy. Tell me what's "bad" about the Android UI. It has

Jailbreaking is a way to make your phone... well... more like Android. Maybe not in look and feel, but definitely in concept. Basically you're making your locked-down phone into something more customizable. It's a testament to Apple's inability to give people what they really want from the phone that you have to

Hope he didn't spend too long making this because... well... it isn't very interesting.

Well this is certainly a shameful development for Apple, although I can't say I'm really surprised, considering their business strategy of deception lately. Gotta hand it to good ol' Steve though. Most people copying/plagiarizing someone else's work would probably at least try to make it noticeably different... but

I've only had my Droid X for about a week, and even with 2.1 on it I'm wondering why I didn't ditch AT&T and the iPhone sooner. Except for gaming, which I really could care less about on my phone anyway, it really blows iOS out of the water in every aspect. So I'm looking forward to having my mind blown all over

@junior ghoul: "flat is where it's at". I dunno, it made me think of Towelie.

It's a scale. To weigh yourself after flailing around like an idiot for hours playing Kinect.
