I would certainly like to think so.

It would be out of character for a Stark to take pride in a deception, but I still like to think he took just a little pleasure at the end knowing he pulled the wool over everyones eyes.

Then again the prize had decided to exile himself to a penal colony with a short life expectancy a few weeks before, so probably not.

Have they made sure he was connected to a power source and tried doing a hard reset? Did they make sure the battery was disconnected for 10-15 seconds beforehand?

Eh, neither am I but this was well executed.

The Midnight Rider bit toward the beginning alone has to bump it up to at least two stars right there.

It’s a three - maybe three and a half - star sequel to a one star film.

Something which has never, ever happened before.

Well, he is in New Orleans now. That city has been known to make good dogs go bad.

Sure thing there, Captain.

I do a lot of hiking/climbing. Those encounters happen rarely.

I couldn’t say the same about Only Revolutions, which was a shame.

Positively ancient.

If you’re going to pretend that your own ignorance wouldn’t be exposed in equal measure without spellcheck watching your back then I question your sincerity and in turn your integrity.

The greatest hits anthology from Penguin is probably the way to go though. Same with Kerouac or just about

I know the Robert Putney Drake stuff is all RAW, and given that Hagbard was based on his own sadly misguided admiration for Timothy Leary presumably that would be as well.

I think I may have talked trash about Purdom more than once and kind of feel bad about that now.

Never got through FW but I did read Anthony Burgess’s book about it which convinced me that it’s possible that nobody really gets it.

I believe he was the first one to make the case which got expanded on in a biography later on that Joyces son George had been sexually experimenting with his younger sister Lucia back

Anything by Robert Anton Wilson, really.

Or House of Leaves. Has anyone bought that up yet? Danielewski has gotten awfully obscure since then and I don’t have the patience but that was as rewarding as it’s reputation suggested.

Now playing

Is this a good place for me to threadjack and post a video of Paget Brewster reading one of the filthiest letters he sent Nora?

Watch and you will not begrudge me for it, I promise. Simply amazing.

It’s understandable.

I grew up reading Raymond Carver and Readers Digest type stuff, other then the novelty appeal of being a century ago and overseas I didn’t think it was anything special really. The Dead being a possible exception.

I’m told 6/16 is nerd Mardi Gras over in Dublin.

Norwegian is doing flights there from Stewart airport just above NYC for like $100 nowadays, I might actually go this year.
