I agree. There are far too many variables beyond mere human ability that decides the results of motorsport events. It wouldn’t be fair if someone were to lose a medal because their machine broke down through no fault of their own.

I think the past few years especially, there’s just been an immense amount of negativity in the world, resulting in lots of pent up stress and anger. As such a lot of people feel like they’re now right on the very edge, ready to blow at whatever is unlucky enough to trigger off the bomb.
