Suggestion for others reading Jason's post, try saving up a small emergency fund of $1,000 for such setbacks. Paying off the debt is the most important item in such a situation, but it gets extremely discouraging real fast when every setback goes back on the card you're paying off.

Couldn't agree with you more. While the pyramid has merit, Dave's plan is all most will ever really need.

This also works to plug holes for gunshot wounds of smaller caliber rounds if you don't unroll the cotton.

I would like the ability to sleep/suspend/wol, etc, but I've never been able to get wol to work remotely.

Unfortunately, Apple's networking solutions (Time Capsule, Airport, etc) don't allow use with most free DNS solutions, including DynDNS.

Working on a side project to turn my iMac into a VPN server for my iPhone (it's been a slow week), I came across the necessity (and it isn't the first time) to know what my home network's IP address was while out and about. Most, if not all ISPs dynamically change these every few days and a simple solution dawned

Currently using a JB'd IP4 with both the GV Phone and SMS extensions in conjunction with BiteSMS. Absolutely perfect solution with no complaints.

You don't need a 4S, you only need the ability to dictate via Siri. If you have a previous version of an iPhone and it is jailbroken you can install the Siri0us package and the app will still work for you (verified before posting).

Not exactly related to the post but I use a jailbroken iPhone 4 with Google Voice/Sipgate integration.

Great idea. I did recently did something similar when trying to rent an apartment out-of-state, "sight unseen." I found that rental agencies don't typically like renting to people they haven't met nor do they like renting to people who haven't seen the property other than photographs, but when you're in the military

@Gotlactose,

@emren:

Been putting off purchasing this app for quite some time, mainly due to the price. Kudos to Lifehacker for putting together an article about such an "off-beat" segment of the iPhone community.

I'm almost sad to be graduating college - I've converted more people than I can count to Google Docs and this is only going to add to the fun!

Instead of using QuickPic I use an app for the iPhone called JotNot Scanner (I bought the pro version because I liked the app so much).

Thanks for the UP AFD, I won't let you down.

MobileTerminal doesn't currently install properly from the Cydia store so you have to install the .deb manually via SSH.

As many as we can get until the whole world is on board!

Second. biteSMS is a spectacular addition.
