I'm on my own tonight, as the husband went to visit family for the day (he'll be back tomorrow morning). In the meantime, I cleaned, went to Whole Foods, did Pilates, and not only made dinner (walnut pesto with pasta, peppers, garlic and leeks), but also some soup for tomorrow's dinner of soup and sandwiches

@liz.lemonade: If it makes you feel any better, you and Publix is like me and Wegmans. That place is my personal food mecca (although Fairway is slowly encroaching on that position), and when I lived at home after college, I would go there on Friday nights and walk around, usually buying things I don't need just

@CubeRootOfPi: I was in your shoes this time last year, and what I did was try to strike a balance between the job search and pursuing something that challenged me intellectually. Depending on where your interests lie, try to figure out how to do something that, at the end of the day, you can say you accomplished

@L'Adelina: I definitely wrote an E.E. Cummings-inspired poem in college about masturbation, and it ended up in the literary journal.

Loved this! Actually I loved all of the NBC sitcoms last night—they really brought out the big laughs. The last 30 seconds of 30 Rock were delightful.

My Philosophy of Death class, combined with The Exorcist, scared me off Ouija boards for good, and it was taught by a former atheist, now agnostic.

We had a lovely day of brunch and wandering around the city, and then we had dinner: whole sardines with chorizo and tomatoes over a simple pasta e ceci with red onions.

@Sputnik_Sweetheart: That is a dangerous game to watch. Too much OM NOM NOM!! I'd adopt every puppy if I had the space to do so.

@Ailatan: To paraphrase the great Eddie Izzard: "You've just opened a bottle of champagne! Champagne!!!"

@angelina jolie-laide is a mavericky bish: The pasta dish came from The Silver Spoon, and the scallops dish came from Think Like a Chef, and both were all kinds of delicious. It's not an overly saucy pasta, which I like, and it fills the kitchen with the scent of rosemary, which I LOVE.

Dinner's on the later side tonight, but it's going to be amazing—spaghetti al rosmario (or spaghetti with rosemary), followed by pan-roasted scallops with pan-roasted mushrooms.

@woodsey: Is there a senior person you trust who you could talk to? Alternatively, you could also try going to HR to see if someone could speak to him about appropriate ways of addressing people.

@cantankasaurus rex: The Anastasia is more traditional, but I like it because it's so clean—the lace is the standout instead of having other bells and whistles. I think in the long run you'll look back on it as timeless compared to the Reese, which is nice...but is honestly a little more prom-like for me.

Tears are rolling out of my eyes because I can't laugh as hard as I want to right now. Bravissima!

That sound you hear is the Bravo execs popping some champers at the thought of a Danielle-Jon pairing.

First thing's first: I forgot my power cord when I went to visit family for most of the week, and I found myself missing Jez terribly.

@ablative: Cin cin to you! It feels appropriate here to toast to you!
