I mean, fair, maybe? Someone else brought this up. I’m not sure how famous he was prior to his electoral work, but he definitely had a career.

False appeal to authority. Nate Silver can be wrong about a set of statistics, and Barack Obama can (and did) have bad foreign policy ideas.

TIL! Nate Silver is old.

Your history is grossly off. He gained his fame by statistically predicting how states and districts would vote in major elections, with uncanny accuracy.

I’m from Ohio, and when my friends were talking about the debates and said something about “Tim” I was like “Wait, fucking Tim Kaine is running now?” and they were like “No, Tim Ryan.” and I immediately said “Wait, who?”

To be fair this is the Clintons monetizing the stories and successes of other women, so I can see how some would see it as kinda slimy? Now if they’re donating the proceeds from this book to the inspiring individuals in question, their families, or their causes, then I think it’s fucking awesome.

Fuck the Clintons, but for real, I don’t really see any kind of problem with this beyond that they’re monetizing the stories of other women?

To be fair, all of us often don’t have the strength and patience, nor should we be expected to. The way these people act is fucking exhausting, and having your eyes truly open to the cruelty that these ignorant assholes inflict, while still being able to continually spare empathy for them, would be superhuman. I’m

To be fair, that’s explicitly his intended audience - like there’s the Dad Joke-grade Sensible Chuckle stuff for science nerdies, but guys like him and Nye are mostly gearing their work towards getting people who have mashed potato brain from America’s education/media to think a bit and learn something, because

Yeah no, this is pretty clearly not that.

I wholeheartedly agree that people who have bought into the Hate Party hook, line, and sinker are unworthy of empathy for their self-inflicted ignorance (though it’s often not that simple - many people are inculcated into it, and cognitive dissonance and bias are strong forces). In spite of my waffling here, I’m not

I’m not apologizing for Republicans, but they are human beings, not fucking androids. 40% of America’s population aren’t sociopaths. Sociopathy isn’t that common.

Imagine if actually everyone could get worked up about it.

“I never met anyone who deserves to kill" is a great line that succinctly sums up my feelings on it.

Didn’t see your comment! No need to roast my chestnuts mang

Cool on the Hill then for ‘supporting’ him by cutting out the part where he calls for strong gun control in the same speech.

I’ll remember to the use the “/s” tag next time.

That’s actually a question without an uncomplicated answer and depends what you mean by “represent” their view.
