If you want a point-to-point, high capacity, high speed transport, why not build an automated subway? Assuming 200 person trains driving at 80 mph with a (conservative) 2 minute headway, you can get 6,000 people through per hour, with the journey taking about 15 minutes. Decrease the headway to 30 sec (feasible with

Needs more potholes.

The same thing goes for the ZZW30, if you prefer the roadster life. Well, the “you can fit in it” part at least, your stuff might be a bigger issue, even though it does have two trunks as well.

The Elise is supercharged. #pedantry

Fair enough, I guess it shows I don’t really need a daily driver. Though I did swap my MR2 for an MX-5 for its increased practicality.

I guess part (or even most) of it is due to its predecessors and their sound. Coming from the flat sixes, the new one is disappointing. An Elise on the other hand will never win “most inspiring sound” (except the supercharged ones, perhaps), but sound was never one of their selling points, so it’s not a real issue.

I am, though I think I prefer the Subaru’s sound over the 718's if I’m honest.

Haha, yeah, you’d be mad to disagree in that case. The Boxster/Cayman has lost all appeal to me by moving to a four cylinder. I would much rather get an Alfa 4C, an Alpine A110 or a Lotus Elise if I were shopping in that class right now.

The biggest letdown of the 718 being 4-cyl is inflated second hand values of the 981.

This. So much this.

I’m impressed by the ESP, seeing how it’s capable of saving a driver that’s doing most of it wrong.

Looks like they found the only hill in the Netherlands.

Nah, they’re just easily distracted and forget to fall.

Instead of killed, you could’ve bought the Performance pack?

Nope, no way to get it registered, as the UK version (160) doesn’t adhere to EU norms. As a small manufacturer, Caterham can have their cars individually approved in the UK, but that doesn’t transfer to the rest of the EU.

The Caterham 165, because Caterham has decided to stop selling them in mainland Europe.

If only it actually came with that engine... (hint: that’s the 124 Rally)
