I disagree.

I don’t know why I’m still in the greys, so you might not even see this, but my 2 cents:

I’ll echo what others have already told you: Read the comments above.
Not only have the Williams sisters competed against the men, but athletics are generally split into two divisions: Men and women (aka those who produce more testosterone, and those who benefit less.) Those physical differences provide different

What’s interesting is that, in recent years, data is showing brands across industries are seeing increased profits if they pander/virtue signal to ‘activist’ branding (e.g. sustainability, carbon footprint, inclusivity & representation, fair wages, etc.) It’s difficult to know if a brand is actually focused on a cause

This wasn’t the ‘theme’ for this fashion show, though. These presentations are done months in advance. The designer had no idea this was unfolding. He merely made a comment about it before the show, referencing his own PTSD as a refugee from Georgia under Soviet rule.

I want to point out that while Caster Semenya is a cis woman, she is an intersex XY woman, specifically 46 DSD. She, along with Francine Niyonsaba, Dutee Chand, and allegedly Margaret Wambui, have higher than typical testosterone when compared to cis XX women. The IAAF has set 5 ng/dl as the standard; XX women

I think people definitely deserve the chance to grow, especially if they made racist comments as kids. They learned from their parents, from their environment, etc.

Please stretch before that GIANT reach. Because you know full well that Americans come from all over the world (yes, including being born in Europe) and aren’t a monolith. And yet, what you wrote is still just simply ridiculous.

In track, that wouldn’t work.

As a former track athlete, I feel like at some point it will be pretty important to be able to discuss the difficulty that cisgender women will have competing against trans women who opt to not undergo hormones. I’m absolutely against the policing of trans and intersex bodies; at the same time, I recognize that a

Not the same example. Latinidad is not a race. It is more of a cultural grouping, relating to ‘nations who were pillaged by ‘Latin’ countries ie Spain, Portugal, Italy, and even France

This is a problematic take, though.

Sorry but this is a ridiculous comparison. We have separate divisions according to sex Aka testosterone. We do NOT have separate divisions according to arm length, lung capacity, or webbed feet.

My god, this whole ‘it’s because she’s black’ thing is getting out of hand.

I’m indigenous Mexican and I’m upset about this. I left comments on Wes Gordon’s Instagram.

It’s a valid question. You can be ‘just enough’ Mexican or Puerto Rican but that does not make you indigenous. Those nationals are made up of more than one race.

Your opinion is valid. I’m Mexican and I disagree.

Pretty much everyone does get this type of testing done if they are competing against international competition.

NO. She is NOT like Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt. This whole argument about Michael Phelps having an advantage because he has long arms is moot; we do NOT have distinct categories according to arm length.

This is a very tricky situation and there really is no clear cut win/win. Caster reportedly has XY chromosomes and internal testes; no XX woman can POSSIBLY hope to compete against her or other intersex women with internal testes. There is just no way.
