I want a show that is just about houseplants and how not to kill them.

i’m here. I spent $600 on plants after watching Monty and i have no regrets. i love him.
I’m a very, very happy boy who is very, very loved and I’m very lucky.” Then he paused before adding, “And my dick’s forever hard.”
Big Dreams, Small Spaces made me so happy.
Escape to the Country is my crack. Gorgeous old houses and countryside porn, what more can you ask for?
I need more Monty Don in my life!
Big Dreams, Small Spaces is on Netflix and it’s really lovely.
YES! I adore the helpful soul who always uploads the new episode of Gardener’s World to YouTube after it airs. I barely know camellias from carnations, but it’s just so soothing...
Team Peter.
Yes. But also...think of all the time to read!! *swoons*
This sounds like hyperbole, but it’s not. Seriously, it was absolutely hysterical, and also at times wrenching, and it was never boring. It was never nothing.
Nanette hit me like a ton of bricks. I present now as a nice fat white housewife from the burbs, but that’s a choice I’m actively making for me and my family’s safety. The reality is that I’m a zebra-ass weirdo: a bisexual, masculine of center, intersex mom.
Sorry, but there were definitely jokes. You just didn’t find them funny. I’m glad it’s categorized as a comedy special on Netflix, and I happen to appreciate that there are multiple ways to do comedy outside of the traditional stand-up.
I almost quit while watching Nanette, because the first 20 min is a true comedy special and, while I chuckled, I didn’t think it was super funny. Then that switch fucking happened and the next thing I knew, I was sobbing and I’ve watched it like 3 times over. It’s so so good.
I somehow think it’s fair to assume you wouldn’t apply this same critique to other comedians who are known for subverting audience expectation. Andy Kaufman has 2 docs and a mainstream jim carrey movie made about him for christ sakes. Why does she not get to play with expectations now?
As a butch lesbian it is amazing to see these women having such success! At 42 I have rarely had one person at a time in entertainment reflect my experience, never mind 3+.
If you haven’t seen Nanette, do so immediately. It’s not easy watching, nor should it be given what she talks about, but it is fucking incredible. I had literal goosebumps and cried during the final bit where she returns to her bus stop story and I’ve been thinking about it, and her, since I watched it. I’ll have to…
You could almost smell when Grace lost interest in the show. But early on, he reminded me a lot of Dave Foley. Who I adore.
One?
