I think we’re well past the era of cutesy takedowns or modest rebuttals at this point. So I’ll just say I really, really hope you die.

Truly, I don’t know how you can love one Wes Anderson movie and detest another (though I’m sure there’s someone...maybe they loved Bottle Rocket and just hate how twee he got with French Dispatch). There’s no one more consistently in their pocket than Wes.
Rose and Chris
Yeah, and it’s why Get Out exploded off the screen and became a culture-defining moment.
The further away we get from Gamergate, the more apparent it is that it was the start of, y’know, *everything.* I think if it wasn’t Gamergate it definitely would have been something else...all the ingredients and technology were there, so it was just a matter of time really...but it’s a foundational moment in the…
Feels a lot like Hollywood decided not to circle the wagons around Harvey because he was juuuuuust a bit too much of a dick, and recut filmmakers’ movies juuuuuust a bit too often. So they took a step back and let him go down hard and fast. But they’ll let the other monsters slide.
It’s deeply depressing.
A lot of very-online, reactionary right-wingers (who apparently think getting angry at a children’s film is like fighting a triumphant musket battle in a tri-corner hat) must be finding it awkward that their most-hated celebrity target is currently sticking up for Tim Allen.
I’ve always thought it’s a bit dicey to ask actors what directors they’d love to work with. Feels like that’s their agent’s job, and putting it out in public would make Chloe Zhao go “Hmmmm. Well thanks, but I’m going in a different direction.”
That’s why the Freaks & Geeks DVD set (also a very strong contender on this list) is such a miracle: They got it all! Every last song that the original series got broadcast rights for.
Given where Green Day is from, I’m assuming (just assuming) that Billie Joe would be voting in California.
At least with Boris, the Tories make a half-assed show of pretending to scold and admonish him with their recent vote of confidence. Trump’s conservative opponents basically strapped on their jackboots after 30 milliseconds of resistance back in 2016.
I’m imagining this pap was dredged up as a family-friendly, low-budget sop to get some red-state audience dollars, only to find that it’s now considered “woke” for Nazis to be the villains.
Whoa, out of nowhere, the guys from The Climb and the women who wrote Booksmart are involved? With this shit? Uh, is this gonna be like a Lord/Miller situation, where there’s no way this should be good and instead it is?
Nothing about this Graggle schtick does it for me, but I do find it fascinating how younger generations, invariably, will look at every single cultural touchstone that we found to be boundary-busting in its sharpness and funniness back then, and go “eh. Kinda sucks ass, let’s get weird with it.”
What must it be like, every time Falcone and McCarthy are in the same room with network suits? Does it just go awkwardly unsaid, for fear of hurting McCarthy’s feelings? Or does no one give a shit?
The people that we’re currently locked in a civil war with will absolutely crow that it’s because of the lesbian kiss, but it’s also possibly because of another factor: They didn’t hear Tim Allen’s voice coming out of Buzz and started getting confused, to the extent that they decided to wait for the Streaming Slop…
Pratt’s comedic persona as honed on Parks & Rec and GotG would have been a great fit - counterbalancing the scary attack scenes with some humor and gee-whiz enthusiasm. I think that’s what a lot of audiences figured they were getting when they bought a ticket to the first one.
This is a character whose creation and casting massively misunderstands why audiences liked Chris Pratt in the mid-2010s. Perhaps he was sick of playing the lovable doofus and wanted to show the world he could be the next Indiana Jones? But the Owen role is just retrograde macho man bullshit, when it’s not completely…
