I'm sure there are countless rankings, the one linked to earlier in the thread has La Liga 4th. My subjective opinion would jive with the tiers I laid out based on the rankings linked to.

I think your link lends credence that it's a fifth tier league. Grouping by the points assigned in that link, the tiers look like this IMO:

And with that, Donald Trump became the sanest famous real estate mogul named Donald.

I guess I just can't picture the MLS getting that good. But I do agree that Americans' successes in the European leagues helps to build the game here.

Is he saying MLS has to get better? Or is he saying that the players need to go to the top European clubs with some degree of regularity (I.e. not one or two players on a 23-man roster) if they want to truly contend? I lean towards the latter. All the minor changes Klinsmann could urge to the MLS, it's never going to

Fuck Chris Wondolowski. He has one fucking skill: finishing the ball. He was presumably selected solely for said skill and when he had the single best chance the US team had all tournament—to score the biggest goal in US history no less—he fucking blew it. Turrible.

It's Djokovic being Djokovic for one thing. Secondly, I saw bigger celebrations from Rafa after winning break points in the earlier rounds. And I agree with the other commenter. Despite head-to-head, Tsonga is a tough opponent and he won in straight sets. That's an accomplishment.

I thought this was a great performance from the US. Without their star striker they scored a late winning goal to steal a game. Sure they played like shit, but they did enough. And did it against a team that has a) been their bogeyman forever and b) been their bogeyman cause they are a matchup nightmare for USMNT.

Those 2 scenarios are not even remotely comparable. Mexico wasn't "handed" a spot. Mexico did enough to qualify because the USMNT had the guts to not roll over and die in their last, meaningless qualifier (a game they'd almost definitely win if they were going all out). While it wasn't pretty for Mexico, they did

Anybody else look at the wrong arm? I kept looking at his left arm going, wait, that broke his arm, doesn't even look like it hit his arm...then I saw it. OUCH.

With all the racism present in the European leagues, I'd be surprised if Mushnick isn't a huge fan...

I didn't even mention the best fans in baseball thing. I hate that shit too, but I wouldn't hold that against their manager, that's just the douchiness of many of their fans. The only correct answer to a question about a video made in jest is to a) laugh it off; b) say it's all in good fun; c) even a "no comment" or

I guess what I'm really saying is that Matheny's response show's he's exactly the kind of self-important, humorless douche that we all think he is.

It doesn't have to be a big belly laugh, or even a laugh at all. A simple "it's all in good fun" would have sufficed. Instead, he launched into this whole statement about how the video really targets them, everyone is out to take shots at them (presumably cause they're they best) and how their players earned it, so

I couldn't dream up a more perfect Portland World Cup news report/game winning goal reaction video.

How dare you bring logic and reason to bear on this hot sports take!!!

It's the pleat, in the pants. He's going to take them back to the pants store.

Very nicely done.

Yes, my typo didn't help matters. Germany is banged up. They're still the best team in the group, even in the banged up state they're in. Therefore they are likely to still beat Ghana and Portugal. Assuming that happens, and given how banged up they are already (I.e. missing Reus) they can ill afford more injuries

You missed the whole point. Germany is banged up and missing players...but even in that state they are still by far the best team is this group. But, because they're banged up and already missing players, my guess is they'll rest their best remaining players if they pull 6 from Ghana and Portugal, which is still
