Plus, caring about something doesn’t make it wrong or right. To give an extreme example, I might not care whether Johnny is murdered or whether or not Samantha can’t get a job because she has a certain skin colour, but my caring doesn’t impact on whether those situations are a problem or not. Thank you for this comment. I love io9 but the ignorance of some of the commenters mostly speaking from a position of unchecked privilege is, at the least, annoying.

I care, a lot of my friends who read comics care and maybe you should read more stuff on racism and representation and cultural appropriation before you think it’s ridiculously trivial. Maybe it’s not as important as the impending nuclear war but that doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily trivial.

I 90% meant it when asked for my favourite dish, and stressed it was a purely personal opinion (in case they didn’t like it). The other 10% of the time depended on if there was a specific dish we needed to get rid of.

All of this is excellent advice, thanks so much. And also good to know about testing it. Makes sense but I know sometimes I would totally be caught up in the excitement and be like everyone try this! And have it end in a disaster.
