Am I the only one who finds it odd Scott Cooper keeps getting work? His movies are almost all box-office duds, and most reviews tend to be middling at best.

Every time IO9 posts about this movie, it’s “groundbreaking” “incredible” “monumental” and here I am, thinking it looks absolutely dreadful/mediocre at the very best. Is there something I’m missing here? I just can’t get enthused for this thing~

The entire point of the episode was about belief and the suspension of searching for answers to the greater mysteries. I believe it was heavily implied Nora didn’t or couldn’t go through the machine, either out of cowardice or something else, giving a sarcastic spin to the title of the episode (the bravest girl).

I should clarify that - they do factor into the endgame...but the amount of setup and space their aspect of the plot takes up...let’s just agree most (we’re talking 90 percent or more) wasn’t necessary for what they end up doing.

The goddamned Seanchan - an interesting concept in and of themselves, but spun so irreversibly out of control over so many books that they lost almost all original purpose and meaning.

I read the entire series, otherwise I wouldn’t be claiming it was garbage, would I? And regardless of the terrible plotting, poor dialogue, and awful characterization, Jordan did create, at least, an interesting setting, and it’s hard to argue that his books aren’t favored by a sub-sect of the fantasy-genre audience.

Jordan’s flaw was having *entire* books in the series that literally added nothing to the overarching plot. His flaws were introducing literally hundreds of inconsequential characters, and then doing very little with them. He even introduces an entire culture that ultimately ends up serving next to no central purpose

“Things to Trim” = Everything. The world is a better place without this trite series.

Yay.

Maybe the story just...wasn’t served by having a larger focus on LGBT issues..? Perhaps it was regulated to mere background exposition because the focus was on freaky machine-people gaining sentience, because that’s what we were promised? This is a poor article, with poorly worded (or else, poorly thought out)

No.

A lot of people commenting are missing the whole point of the character in the film (as usual).

Unlike the movies, which suck, this ride does not.

You sound salty. Are you salty ~ bruh?

Early reviews indicate that the “final act” is akin to a psychological-horror film (whatever the fuck that means...). The apparent indication is that the Steve V Tony fight will be what closes out the movie. Most likely they’ll both realize that they were forced to fight, but the score will still need settling.

My first takeaway from this ~ RIP TV-Loras (we hardly even knew you).

Taught Sidious the ways of the Sith, and their relationship culminated in his revelation of the ability to overcome death by Plagueis transfering his mind into the body of another being. Plagueis intended for Anakin Skywalker to be his new vessel. Sdious, believing there was no more his master could teach him, killed

Oh yeah, totally agree. It's just more jarring when you're actually viewing something than reading.
