I have always been mystified about adults who give a shit about dress codes and onstage behavior at graduation ceremonies. Why stress yourself into the ulcer about something so utterly inconsequential? My god, a kid you never have to see again might wear a feather! The horror.

dress codes are mostly racist, sexist bullshit. there is no reason other than racism to prohibit this. the guy is LEAVING the school. ten seconds after the ceremony ends, so does the school’s authority over this kid. 

I was thinking of gorging myself on the second half of the ridiculous sandwich I bought for lunch. This changed my mind. Forever, maybe.

There is a degree to which I am disappointed this didn’t happen. I kind of want to see exactly how far he can go before Republicans go “wow, wait - that’s a bit too far.”

Came here to say this. Racism and oppression aside (two big asides, of course), whether it’s tattling on black people for being in a park or a kid wearing his tribal regalia, I always come back to the same question: Why did it even occur to you to care?
