We made carbon fiber wheels on my FSAE team at RIT. The first problem we found was being able to hold air as it is technically a fibrous material. When we finally got a wheel to hold pressure we attempted to torque bolt the wheel car and.... the bolt blew through the carbon fiber as the material is apparently not good
