Oh, were there rumors that Jesu was over? Speaking of which, did Pelican officially break up?

Really sucks. And those were all bands whose albums I try to buy a physical copy.
On a related note, it seems ironically, that every band I really like put something new out this year except for Jesu (unless there's an EP that get released without announcement before the end of the year.)

I've always found it strange that there are a lot of bands in the indie and stoner rock worlds that didn't get the grunge or alternative tag even at the time (i.e. Pavement, Kyuss, etc.) I do appreciate that the main wave of both Seattle grunge and the 80s underground bands that influenced it all had pretty distinct

I think I bought Piece of Cake and Stoner Witch at the same time. I actually didn't care for SW at the time-Houdini was the album that converted me to the Melvins-although I think it's great now (and Shevil is a great tune at the end of it!)

One cool thing I always liked about Mudhoney is that they always hit you over the head with an unexpected melancholy tune in the midst of the rest of their goofiness-Acetone, Running Loaded, Check-out Time etc.

Christmas '91 I got a NES, when the Super NES was all the rage. No complaints though, I spent the early months of '92 playing the original Mario trilogy.
