So, a large and popular gaming event series decides to head-on address issues of prejudice and sexism and you slam them for it? Add on that the convention series is well-known for diversity, feminism, queer, and related workshops and this descends into some bizarre realm of self-parody.

It sounds like they are creating an information station where underserved populations within the gaming community (read—not cis-straight white dudes) can get info on panels/etc that are being presented throughout the weekend…

Except at places with "free speech zones" there "free speech" is relegated to those areas only. Nobody is saying you can't have diversity at the rest of the con, they're wanted a special place to focus on it. To compare it with "free speech zones" is tenuous at best.

So PA of their own accord tries to set up a section of the conference to promote diversity, and your reaction to this is basically, "fuck those guys".
