It is a gorgeous car. But the air suspension in it was not ready for prime time.
By 2009, the W211's issues had been sorted all out. The 2003-2005 models were absolute nightmares to anyone who owned one.
That. Exactly.
This isn't a guilty pleasure at all. Say anything bad about the NA Miata driver and they'll all pounce on you like spiders.
The funny thing is that it's difficult for a normal person to get into an auction in California. Sure, it can be done if I'm really in the know and stumble into a police auction, but it's difficult to find an auction where I live, though I know many of them exist.
If you're not a dealer, how can a normal guy like me get into an auction?
Or have Chris Harris do it.
For me, I saw a Honda Fit of Domport Auto Body/HPD racing during a USTCC event as a support race during the WTCC race weekend at Sonoma last October. Unfortunately, it was getting passed by everything left and right.

There's an almost rotting E38 that I see in my neighborhood every time I go for a run. I feel prompted to one day leave a note on the car indicating my interest to buy it or knock on the owner's door. Unfortunately, I don't know them, so I don't know whether I can just do that.
Well, it is a Matra. And French cars are awesome.
Which'll be fun right up until you hit that tree that was "beckoning to you."
Right up until you hit that tree you were trying so desperately to avoid...
Put an LSD on it. Expensive, but plenty of fun.
What car did you drive it in? Was it the 944?
You'll really like riding in the back seat. It's better than the back of an S-Class.
I'll second (or third or fourth) you on the Murano Crosscab, it's that bad.
