I absolutely love my crockpot. It’s changed the way I cook. Throw a bunch of stuff in a pot, come back and it’s cooked. The log time in the pot allows the flavors to blend together much better for certain types of dishes. I recommend this book, which has some incredible recipes.
Well, similar concept to a rice cooker - except it’s a whole meal (soup / stew / chili / curry, etc), not just rice.
I put the recipe together the day before & stick the whole thing in the fridge (the food + the ceramic insert, not the electric part). Mine has a setting where you set the cooking time, and when that’s done, it automatically sets itself to “keep warm.” I probably wouldn’t do a 4-hour recipe during a workday, since 5-6…
