As someone who HAS been in a state like that (hence the username), I would prefer to be dragged to a place with actual doctors and medical equipment so an adverse event doesn’t kill me. Um, I was THE Black Girl Nerd in highschool. I had zero Black friends (rejected!) after 9th grade that weren’t family or friends of family. But I never sacrificed my “Blackness” because my tongue was a sharp as a ginsu and I was known to leave fools dead on the verbal battlefield.
