Is Bethesda even capable of developing a smaller-scale game with a QA team equipped for the job?
Ulala did it better.
You'd think you'd get a cool (not smart, but cool) story out of time-hopping, eldritch abomination, bio-mechanical demigods, but only someone like Toriyama could have managed to screw even that up.
I think this would actually deepen one's emotional investment in what is otherwise a pretty drab to-do list of a game.
Not quite. Seems more weighty than mere decoration.
Maybe it's because putting emphasis on their version of zombies in an already flooded market probably won't stand out as much as the human drama angle?
Is there any reason why this isn't on the PSN as a downloadable Vita game? Besides Square Enix being dumb and tone-deaf to consumers, I mean.
I'd certainly hope they someday release a downloadable version of Team Fortress 2 on the more open PSN, independent of the Orange Box version. Valve wouldn't have to scale back nearly as much to make that work as opposed to XBL.
Oh just let Star Wars die with a shred of dignity already!
I felt similarly about Wild Arms 5's lead character, Dean. Now, teenagers can be pretty dense, but as I was playing I was dumbstruck by how he was so unfathomably oblivious to the fact that the two female leads were interested in him.
I'll pass, thanks all the same.
Judging from their decisions these last few years, what is it with how seemingly NO ONE within their company has the fucking backbone to give any of their coworkers constructive criticism on stuff like this? And it would have to come from within, because we've all seen how SE operates in that tone-deaf bubble to the…
I'd like to see Japanese women get angry and take to the streets in feminist marches for equality and basic respect. It's 2012 and Japan's gender relations gap is still utterly pathetic compared to the other developed nations. Women and LGBT just can't get a break over there.
Frankly, I'm glad to see anyone even remembering Persona 2. I'm especially fond of Eternal Punishment over Innocent Sin. The game was damn innovative (narratively at any rate), so it's a shock that JRPGs haven't moved forward very much since then.
I guess an argument could be made that Rain takes closely after Limbo as Uncharted did to Tomb Raider, but I don't mind so much.
Also, is the music in the trailer of Rain an original composition for the game or a classic from long ago? In fact, I'm pretty darn sure it's an old classic. I've definitely heard Gymnopedie No. 1 before, but can't quite put my finger on this one's name. (talking as if I'm smart enough to even memorize the names in…
I'm not going to blast your opinion on Last of Us in any way, shape or form (that's be dickish of me), but I would like to say that the sheer graphical horsepower on display in a game like that has finally allowed realistic graphics to effectively present a relatable emotion to an audience.
It does feel like a cop-out. As a general rule, I think if your game has any blood in it, it has less wiggle room or excuse for telling a bad story.
From what I gather about Heavenly Sword and having beaten Enslaved, Ninja Theory does tend to do acting, motion capture, and even story a fair bit better than many other modern studios.
