@audioblitz13: She just might have the sort of hair that refuses to grow. It happens to some.
@audioblitz13: She just might have the sort of hair that refuses to grow. It happens to some.
@herfalsecoloredeyes: It happens to all of us! Especially with such a huge commenter base here.
@herfalsecoloredeyes: I don't think that assumption is implied above, by highjump. Rather he/she is having a related discussion about gender issues in parenting.
@highjump: Conversely, I often feel it's reactionary to the notion that all boys are troublesome, violent and insensitive by default. It worries me that mothers (in particular) might feel they are powerless against the macho influences on their sons from society as a whole, when in fact it is often parents who have…
@stacyinbean: I can't help but be immediately concerned for the boys she's already bringing up, as well as her. This family doesn't seem as though the grieving process is over, and a baby girl will never be the band aid for that.
So many adoption comments already. Yes, adoption is a great option for would-be parents. It should be much more considered in the eyes of many of us.
"do singing"?
Please note, this show has many millions of viewers, and this weekend was the final.
They were both on BBC chat show The Graham Norton show (they're dressed as they were then so pretty sure this snap is backstage there).
Is this meant to be perturbing to me as a woman? Surely cuddling feels more intimate than many sexual acts, thus an erection is hardly all that awkward in this situation than in others?
Brandy strikes me as such a classy woman. Of the few clips I've seen of her on DWTS (I'm not in the US) she's an incredible dancer, too.
@boring diatribes: Oh I wasn't trying to imply that it was universal in Americans. Rather, as I said above, that we are more explicitly exposed (on TV and in movies) in the UK to a wide variety of US accents. And they are culturally marked to their location a lot of the time.
@scullymurphy: Wow, that is strange! Perhaps it's just those I know. I've often thought we have a better understanding of the variances in accents in the US because we're constantly exposed to them in TV and film, but I suppose people pay little or no attention all over the world.
@Judders: Haha, the idea that West Bromwich and Hugh Grant could even be in the same category is somehow charming.
@jastle: It's definitely just something you have to hear to put a finger on which accent is from where. I wouldn't expect someone to make a stab at a Newcastle accent without having one pointed out to them, for example, but not being able to hear that it's not how the Queen speaks is just amazing to me!
@OnTheLevel: Yes, we can. I can tell the difference between a Jersey accent and a Brooklyn one, even, let alone telling a Southern states accent from New England.
@megnificent: Just one gigantic pout in the sky
I could not disagree with this more if I tried. Yes, leopard can easily look cheap, but it can just as easily look good. It's about textures, fabric choice, subtlety. No one in the fashion world is asking anyone to wear anything resembling the outfit above, after all.
@Deeba: I do it a little, but I am still in a minority in my experience with this. I am most certainly not in high school anymore though.
When I was at university it was absolutely not an acceptable thing to be homophobic, in any sense. And that was not an attitude of just myself or my circle, it was evidently a widely held opinion across the institution (evidenced by various things). I went to a university which had an unusually diverse background,…
