Mercs are scum. I only worked with non-combat intelligence contractors and 90% of them were just awful. I can’t even imagine what the combat mercs are like.

It wouldn’t save money. I know people from my time in the army who are doing the exact same job at the exact same place for 3 times the money only their boss is some contracting company instead of the US government. And that salary still ultimately comes from the US taxpayer.
