I thoroughly apologize for my remark. It was insensitive to those who identify with pirate culture.

You're a treasure.
Now that Trump has made explicit so much of the carefully unspoken subtext of the past 35 years of conservatism—the unalloyed bigotry and viciousness at the heart of its policy positions, yes, but also the deeper, ineluctable truth that it has only ever been a pure politics of grievance and resentment—the mannerisms…
I have a hard time believing that an artisanal, locally-sourced, hand-crafted, gluten-free, organic, bean-to-bar chocolate maker would misrepresent their product in this way.
Now, I’m wondering if I Adele ticket love my mom.
There is nobody I love that much and I have children. Sorry kids.
EXCELLENT!!! They were so fucking electric. I saw them in a small venue and it was awesome. They played most of their songs and the encore was incredible. If you have the chance to see them, I fully recommend them. I haven’t had that much fun at a show in forever.
I was one of the 10 million. I thought “hey, my sister and my mother like Adele, and it’d be nice to host them, this might be a nice gift for the two of them”. So I logged on at 10 am, went over to ticketmaster and....five minutes later I decided I didn’t really love my mother or sister that much.
I’m crossing my fingers for the Jez Trifecta/Hat Trick:- now we just need an article about the politics of pubic hair grooming and whether porn can be feminist!
Heh. The awareness of cultural mores in days past is fairly important in interpreting the way our immediate ancestors went about their daily lives, I think. Sometimes it’s a little absent in current discussions, to the detriment of clarity.
It’s funny because I think most people have been in the situation where someone says something so horrible that you initially think you had to have misunderstood ... and then they double down.
That’s not a “disturbingly real” version of the song, it’s a rather outlandish satire based on how 40s language sounds to modern ears. It’s funny because it’s over-the-top. Frank Loesser wasn’t writing about duct-taping and raping his wife, of course, but the idiom is a little archaic, and lends itself to exaggeration…
Funny or Die is appropriate, because some people find it funny and a larger group wish it would just die.
Duck! Incoming! :)
Dude, I love the Pats, and Tom Brady the Football Player just as much as the next guy/gal, but like...he’s definitely dumb. Being dumb does not preclude one from being excellent at football or married to a supermodel, because one can be both dumb as a rock, yet handsome and talented enough to make up for that, as he…
This isn’t the local YMCA. This is a pro locker room, regularly filled with dozens of reporters and their cameras. Tom Brady is well aware of that.
Amen to everything. These dedicated weirdos trying to make Christianity “modern” are just fucking everything up. It’s hard to be neutral and accepting of this brand of friendly, fuzzy fire-and-brimstone that tries to seduce kind, sensible young Jesus-hippies. Guitars and man-buns and Bieber don’t help with sad,…
this is the first thing I’ve laughed out loud at this whole depressing week, thank you.
On the flip side. There are towns were bigot was very much the norm and the few non-bigots were the nut jobs. But the Internet gave them other people to talk to too.
