I live very close to a warehouse and would get “super saver shipping” delivered in just a couple of days. Now they fail to miss the mark on Two Day shipping all the time. They clearly don’t prioritize that part of the business anymore.

That used to happen in the “old days.” It hasn’t happened for quite a while though.

To be fair, there were times where I selected 2 day shipping and it arrived the next business day. It also has to do with the proximity of the warehouse the item is shipped from. The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the lucky regions.

Also if they send it SurePost, or whatever it’s called where UPS or FedEx drops the package off at your local post office to have them deliver it, there’s no telling how long it can take. Seems like the moment they drop it off there, they consider the two day shipping obligation met. Post office will mark it

i think if more cars require premium it would cause gas stations to be more competitive on premium pricing. regular is within 4 cents a gallon of eachother based on what side of town your on. premium can be anywhere from 35 cents more to nearly a whole dollar more a gallon!

While US freight railroads did experiment with horsepower ratings of 6000 in the mid ‘90's on diesel electric locomotives, all locomotives today have settled in at about 4500 horsepower. Those 6000 HP monsters have either been retired, exported or derated to 4500 horsepower.

Cheesesteak isn’t even that good.

Well the one with the Congressional train was someone stuck on the tracks or crossing that was hit... I don’t think the train is to blame on that one.

I’d say it’s not sharing tracks with freight. Last such crash we had here (Poland), if I remember correctly, took place when the commies were still around.
All of the tracks are shared with freight trains here. Guess Amtrak needs to up their safety.

Not going touch that third rail comment.

Hopefully this wont derail their business.

Their engineers might need some re-training.

They do seem a little off track.

Derek Mueller of Veritasium got very close. From what I remember, the radiation was far too dangerous to even go get a brief glimpse. The geiger counters they had were going nuts.

Goddamnit, somebody fix the GPS on that TU-95. Fucker’s been off course since the 1960s.

The US has held that part of Cuba since 1898

Right, because you can have total joe schmoes off the street run solar, electricity, or gas power plants with no problems. Nuclear power isn’t anywhere near as dangerous as you make it out to be.

Yeah, except the Chesapeake isn’t international waters, and we haven’t recently annexed Mexico in a sham referendum. So not quite the same thing.

Remarkably stupid blog post, you’re welcome.
