i'm definitely more disposed to give disorderlies and who's that girl the benefit of the doubt because i watched them both super often super early. it's like being vaccinated against their terrible. and cool as ice i watched with a dear friend when we used to do our own mst3k type thing, so it's horrific but i'm glad

did havok die? wow, that shows how much i paid attention to this movie.

i agree. she has that haughty old money air emma frost needs. it could have been amazing, but they gave the character so little agency she ended up being emma in name and appearance only.

yep, i actually love seeing this cool-headed and often fondly exasperated captain lance.

exactly. i adore the legends because they are the epitome of "not flying! falling with style!" their plans fall apart every time because someone inevitably effs it up, yet they manage to work together and pull through anyway.

joan's had several people die right in front of her under somewhat similar circumstances and the show never explored the effects of any of them. and the cop wasn't just not a genius. marcus pointed out that the file made it clear he'd put almost no effort into the case.

i agree. it almost could've been excused by brunelle just terminally asking them at the wrong time, but he wrote letters as well. when you also take into account joan's work with her own clients and their cases of jingle-stealing, our heroes look like dicks.

joan saving his life was far more powerful than the pat end of the sympathetic kidnapper dying by overzealous police bullets. i've seen that play out more times than i can count.

notable but offscreen POC, joan's oncologist friend, ramesh

i'd definitely suggest you pull through! season four is absolutely amazing. i stopped a few eps into season five because it started getting weird, but i hope to go back some day.

that would've been a better catalyst for the final confrontation than the SWAT leader who was super trigger-happy for little reason.

jon michael hill shines with everyone. i really hope he gets his own show.

what i loved about this was lucy liu's choice to let joan's concern about burnelle show in her voice during their confrontation. it put a different light on their earlier scenes together. while she was trying to keep him talking, she got to know him and she genuinely cared about him. she is exemplary at keeping a cool

the syrup-tasting moment was great, too. marcus was like "you're eating pancakes at a time like this?" sherlock went "it's case-related" and marcus was right back with him. they have such an awesome dynamic, really.

he was also a standout on the wire, which was a cast almost entirely comprised of standouts.

yeah, i kept thinking he'd open with "so watson, we've come to an impasse about blah blah blah" instead he kept calling in just to give status updates

the premise of joan as collateral would have gone down easier for me if she'd still been part of the investigation. sherlock claimed he'd need her to solve the case. burnell said, "that's fine. she's still got her phone." they didn't make the best use of sherlock's calls.

i'm well aware of the reasons. i'd just like to see someone like me who admits to being like me on screen for once.

i took the ending as don choosing to capitalize on the idea of enlightenment instead of truly becoming enlightened himself. he's okay because he's still the guy who can pull off a million dollar idea, but he's also not okay because he remains a selfish narcissist with severe attachment and addiction issues.

i think roger will outlive us all
