He's kind of busy now, but there's no telling what he'll do when he's free.

HATEJOKE: Cloud Nothings' Dylan Baldi on why George Carlin's "Seven Dirty Words" doesn't hold up 40 years later

People hate "Natural One"? I'm sure Lou Barlow doesn't mind. Yeah, he can take it—and good thing, too, because he made it.

The early analog synthesizers had a degree of unpredictability that made them sound not so bad. I think it's the digital ones (the Yamaha DX7 in particular) that produced the artificial plastic sheen so prevalent in '80s pop and rock music.

@e_buzz_miller:disqus : Some songs barely escaped the '80s Sound, such as R.E.M.'s "Catapult." Unfortunately, after listening to that alternate-universe version, I hear the silly keyboard line in the bridge in my mind whenever I listen to the album version.

I recall that there were supposed to be four suites (based on the circles on the covers for Metropolis and The ArchAndroid). Glancing at the cover for The Electric Lady, though, it looks like Monáe has upped that to seven. Of course, I'm not complaining about more music in this vein!

I mused to Mrs. Digital that it would be great to see a montage (I hesitate to say "supercut") of all of Walt Jr. / Flynn's scenes only. I imagine the show would come off as a heartwarming tale of a teenage boy overcoming the physical challenges of his cerebral palsy and the emotional challenges of his father's cancer

Well, his avatar is grey, and he's hounding us…

I thought it was interesting that Holly didn't just say "Mama," but something more like "No mama, no mama."

@Charlotte_Grote:disqus : I heard Bob Odenkirk on Fresh Air a few weeks back, and he said that he often encounters people who pull out "Better Call Saul!" when they see him, even if they haven't watched Breaking Bad. His portrayal of Saul Goodman in BB and the upcoming spinoff will follow him for a while, but maybe

As my partial namesake, he will be missed. His son Thomas must be devastated.

I still haven't seen that film, but I imagine you're referring to the "Mesto, rigido e cerimoniale" movement of György Ligeti's Musica ricercata. For additional Ligeti creepiness, try Atmosphères for orchestra (used in 2001: A Space Odyssey), Volumina for organ, and the Second String Quartet.

I fold.

@avclub-2e907f44e0a9616314cf3d964d4e3c93:disqus : I haven't listened to Year Zero, but that screeching might be the "reaching hand" motif, which is shown in audio spectrograms on the album's Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…

I'm still waiting for the commenter who posts the "rap" "lyrics" (usually with 2 Chainz guest verses) to chime in.

He grew a beard down below, too…

If Dean is soliciting theme songs for Mineral Man, my brother and I recorded a track by that name back in 2000 (I was 15, he was 10). It was basically him yelping the title and making fart noises in between garbled lyrics and my half-assed guitar playing and backup vocals. I'm sure we can tweak it in post.

I probably chime in this here A.V. Club with a variation of this comment twice a seas—
