I want it in color, not grayscale. And a super-dark metallic shade of a color is now on my no-fly list too. Seriously, what is this shit they’re pushing on people these days? It can’t just be like a nice british racing green, it’s like someone accidentally got a bit of green in their black metallic.

Don’t be obtuse. That is a poor metaphor and you know it. The dB scale is logarithmic. It is also subject to highly variable environmental conditions, hence using a SAE standard for testing sound. The police are completely ignoring the standard, skipping equipping officers with the tools to actually measure sound and

What annoys me is the subjectivity of all of this. A cop can pull you over give you a ticket and drag your ass to court, even if your car comes in at 94 dB. You may win in court, but now you have to take a day off work or go without wages. It is nothing more than a stop and frisk law in vehicular form.

Want to love it. Don’t love it.

million miles in a shitbox. Thats like the 10th layer of Dante’s inferno right there.

I believe it was best summarized in a R&T or prior Jalopnik piece, it is not the car technology that becomes the ultimate barrier to entry for adoption but governing legislature and infrastructure.

Holy hell that’s absolutely wild. Glad you made it out unscathed, and I look forward to reading a follow up piece.

How many days you think it’ll be before the first 2JZ swap happens? I’d fire the intern at Hoonigan who hasn’t already got a crate motor and a direct line to Toyota’s PR people lined up.

It sure is time for self love! God I love this 3.0i! Upgrade the braking a bit and you have yourself a decent weekend warrior on top of an already great canyon carver and practical dality (if you have no kid).

I’d go that way just for running costs. the 3.0 is enough for a car this size.

Everything else feels fast if you have a BRZ.

Evergreen. ;)

Dope ride man! Currently own a 08 Z4 3.0i Roadster. Wish mine was an M, but they are still absurdly expensive, nearly 30k in Chicago!! Plus I would need to learn how to drive a manual prior to buying one >.<

Is this the appropriate time for some self love!?

Tiny little bastards, but they’re tons of fun. They are natural competitors for the Bosxter/Cayman of the time, but they have a more cramped cabin and ride harsher. The Z4M feels far faster, but I guess that will happen when you have an extra 50 or 90 hp vs the 987 Cayman S or base, respectively. The engine in the Z4M
