"Tallywhacker" is really good.

I think that's the best approach. You're right that it rarely works out otherwise.

Agreed but I'm more in the middle. I don't care if it's used by women (or by men during happy sexy times to refer to anatomy)...but when men use it the way you said it, I can't handle it.

Nobody told me anything. I still don't ever know which one to use in what situation.

Love it.

Yeah, I agree with this and also with the person who said it makes sense to apologize to Valentino.

I see you get it now and take back my entire comment (in response to your question somewhere else) and direct it instead at everyone else who still doesn't get it.

Well, here's my honest opinion. Not understanding why everyone is upset is OK. Not being upset yourself is OK, because you are not affected by it (if you were, you'd be upset).

As a teenage girl, I was distracted by the little flip of hair sticking out the bottom of the baseball cap of the dude in front of me in Spanish class. Or the week he had a bandage around his head like a sweatband because of a surfing injury that made his hair stick up all ridiculous.

I thought the same thing...I actually saw some really crazy beautiful dude on the bus last night wearing them and...I mean...I kinda want them now. I actually really liked them...or maybe just him...I can't tell.

Exactly,great explanation!

THIS MADE ME GAG-LAUGH.

Exactly, it's fine to make fun of racist asshats...it's not ok to make fun of the people they hurt.

Secondly, I don't think "get" was wrong and you don't need to apologize. You don't "get" to is right, it would be disrespectful of you to make these jokes to someone unless it's the way you are connecting over a shared experience. I mean, also, when I say jokes...they're not really like, jokes with a punch line. It's

That is what I said, that we do it in private not around other people. It's not to be funny, it's to lighten a heavy feeling for US.

"men don't do this" ...so is his advice to not be like a man? That if you giggle, therefore you are not training like a man, therefore you are not training properly? It's just NOT advice...it's just stupid.

Ok, now I just have this image of a dude saying something douchey to a lady and she just pulls out her yoga mat, unfurls it in his face and it says "DRAMA" on it in big pink letters and then she proceeds to do like 100 push ups on it or somethingidon'tevenknowanymore.

I have to agree, all your comments are pretty great. I would just shoot an email to Lindy West or something and ask who to inquire with.

Yeah, if "all you commenters are wrong (because you're racist) and here's how you should think (don't be racist)" then um...that's pretty ok with me.
