Completely disagree. I loved Solo. Han and Chewie: A Love Story was exactly what I wanted. I really liked The Force Awakens, as well.

TFA is increasingly unwatchable. And it the perfect example of a JJ movie; big, loud, lazy, and dumb.
I can promise you that little Steeplejack from years past, never imagined he’d see Jedi Master Luke sucking milk from the teet of a monster, toss his ancestral / historic lightsaber over his shoulder, or be an insufferable old hermit.
Yeah, that makes sense. I think it’s a problem inherent in any transfer of story ownership: the “new” creator(s) can’t possibly understand the creation as well as the original creator(s), and so the kinds of bad decisions that lead to character assassinations and contrived plot points are almost inevitable.
I just don’t think that the argument of “Your imagination works too well for you to appreciate our movie” holds up though.
