Exactly! Something of the magnitude of Zelda U/NX is bound to be announced by the major Nintendo players. It would probably have something of a week’s notice and there would more than likely be a direct involved with it.

It’s more than likely a case where even though the game has had huge success, it still has the indie connotation based on the image people already had from years ago.

Yeah, at this point I would argue that Minecraft is even bigger than some Nintendo franchises themselves, but I guess it’s still considered an indie. Or at the very least, kind of like a flagship for indies.

He is the person in charge of Nindies. It makes sense that this is the announcement he was referring to. Minecraft on Wii U is a big announcement after all.

Nice! I play it on PC with mods, FTB turns this game into practically Minecraft 3. But I might just get this as an excuse to play with Vanilla Minecraft. I miss the simple days of playing Minecraft on Xbox.

To be fair, the original game was pretty linear. And in the worst case scenario, if we were to lose the open world, I don’t think we would miss much. I can see it work in two ways:

To be honest, it doesn’t even have that much side content to begin with. It just has one sidequest that easily takes about 10-15 hours (the chocobo thing). Other than that, most of the side stuff is pretty minimal and can be done relatively fast.

When did he said that? If you read what OP said, they clearly stated that the episodic format is being done for the sake of rushing it, rather than waiting the full development cycle the game would normally have.

They technically did. There’s a game called amiibo tab or something like that. Basically, you scan an amiibo and it loads the demo of one of the virtual console games.

It seems like almost every modern gaming technology/gameplay mechanic/idea was at some point a Nintendo idea. Is rather ironic then, that they are currently the only one of the big three that doesn’t an efficient streaming mechanic.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t discover charts. God knows we don’t need more guys pestering us with charts.
