Pretty much no one buys the hatchback. It just would disappear from US dealerships if there was an import tax or if it had to be built in the US. Less, more expensive options is usually the result of tariffs. No new jobs, no hatchbacks, more expensive products.

The hybrids are 100% mandatory for OEMs in LMP1. It’s only privateers who are allowed to race without them (and at this moment only the single Kolles car will be on the privateer grid next season).

I see one major flaw in your theory. GTE is going great guns for reasons more likely than the class being hybrid free.
The fact that manufacturers can show off their production cars, the stunning level of competition and borrowed memories of yesteryear are also giant factors.

1) There is no requirement to have a hybrid system in LMP1, you just aren’t going to be competitive without one. No manufacturer is interested in racing without having the opportunity to win.

What would have been great is if Porsche had actually pulled off taking over VW. Then all would be right in this world.

Probably his job. Just a wild guess, though.

Hell this could be an awesome idea for a gated community, there are already golf course communities, communities with pools, tennis courts, etc... A community with a shared car shop with lifts, tools, and stuff would be an awesome place to live in.

the touring car championship was renamed V8 Supercars in 1995. Other than that, I think ~630BHP from a 5.0L naturally aspirated V8 and the ability to turn left AND right is pretty super

Ripped off because if I/we also want to drive anything imported we’re slugged with a range of taxes and trade tariffs.

You actually see his face light up when he gets a legitimate question. It’s wonderful.

He’s a dick at press conferences. He’s well known to be the exact opposite in every other setting.

He’s basically Greg Popovich without all the charm.

The thing with Belichick is that he hates 99% of the stupid questions that reporters ask (and I don’t blame him). But every once in a while he’ll get asked an actual football question and suddenly he’ll give you a 10 minute strategy dissertation off the cuff.
