Yep, he had to go and shame people for being mad that he appointed a judge who was Muslim. You're not getting anywhere with that kind of basic human principle.

"New Jersey Governor" should have been a dead giveaway.

I hate following that up with "oh, that's not what I meant" but that's not what I meant. That generation came out of incredible deprivation and so many lives were either rerouted or ended. But they did the job and went through all these things in all these various comments. But many after them- including it seems

Our true enemy was ourselves. And the Nazis. Really 99.99999% Nazis.

It's a good movie. Rough around the edges but a solid first go.

It starts with the manufacturing of the bucket if that's any indication.

At the very least they could hold us in contempt for throwing tantrums any time we don't get exactly what we want.

The war in the Pacific was a special kind of Hell. There's a great scene in the HBO miniseries where a soldier returning from the Pacific is driven home by a cabdriver who served in Europe. The driver refuses to charge him because of his service and he objects because they both served. The driver says, "I was in

My grandfather was deferred because one leg was shorter than the other. All of his brothers went. One was killed by a landmine on a beach two days after victory over Europe was declared. My grandfather spent the war stateside getting disapproving looks from people because he wasn't in uniform.

I fear PTA will always carry that "young upstart" label even though he's solidly middle aged now. Or they're still holding against him Fiona Apple's "oh boo" face she made when he lost to Cameron.

So get ready for RebootKirk.

It was while passing along a story of Straight saying if there was a director it should be Hooper.

It would be a half hour of build-up, then they'd reach the set and see what's happening. "Oh, so that's who directed it. Oooooooookayyyyyy. What do we do now?"

"Hoopah drives the boat! Well, maybe not in this case!"

Pretty much. Beatrice Straight and Martin "Pulls His Face Off" Casela are both on record for Hooper.

Someone needs to compile video of every instance of him pretending to do blue collar work. There's one where he pretends to be a coal miner. It's never done with anything more than kiddie miming.

I don't know. That worked great.

And allow their films to have fun even when they're incredibly intense. DAWN obviously has a lot more of those lighter moments, but NIGHT still finds ways to do it. My favorite line out of all of his films is still "They're dead…they're all messed up."

Personally, it seems like they think he's a zombie. They're shooting without confirmation so they're still idiots. If Romero is telling the truth, the lead could have gone to someone else if Duane Jones hadn't auditioned but I think the movie would have ended the same way regardless.

His portrayals of TV in the first two films is soooooooo good. Not flashy, not smoothed out, very much like how it would probably be. And the debates in DAWN foresee cable news talk shows.
