I really don’t think we can slam him for saying this - it is, after all, in the context of Albright and Steinem telling us to vote for her because she is a woman. Mike is asking us to vote based on whose policies are better for us, and us includes women.

How does having *not* met a transgender person render his suggestion more objective? Doesn’t it do the opposite? Only where white cis male is considered the norm is interacting with others unlike yourself before forming an opinion considered “bias.” Bias is only talking to people like yourself ffs!

Bernie supporter here and I couldn’t even read the Dowd piece because I knew it would be hyperbolic garbage. Most Bernie supporters are not simple idiots.

I disagree. Their views on wartime decisions and campaign finance are worlds apart and significant. The other stuff may be closer together and while that is profoundly important (because we need to support either candidate come general election) we can't pretend those first two things aren't huge.
