When I sold my 2006 S4, it was burning a quart every 500 miles or so. Between that and the plastic timing chain guide time bomb, it was time to get out.

The best ones are when he corrects someone else’s grammar with his own spelling mistakes.

First car out of college was a used, chipped B5 S4 with 60,000+ miles on it that I could afford the payments on, but not much more. Cracked a 19" wheel on it less than a month later and spent a couple weeks just finding where I could even buy a replacement. And luckily the dealership sold me the aftermarket warranty

3.o “T”?

I’ve got the 3.0T in my S4 and it’s been bulletproof compared to previous S4 engines.

And I imagine the list of problems on the S4 warrants its own post.

Yeah, the spiritual successor to the B5 is probably the current S3.

Currently on a B8, though I’ve previously had a B5 and B7.

As an S4 owner who’s had one of these for a rental a few times, I feel like it’s larger than the S4, more like S6 size.

Cupholders both in front and uphill of the the electronic controls for the MMI... Just begging to have liquid spilled and ruin the controls. I wonder how well that wheel spins when it’s covered in venti mocha residue.

They also separated the volume control on the MMI from most of the other controls. But then again, since it’s only an automatic, no need to take my hands off of the steering wheel, so just use that control instead.

That’s because RS is targeted to M and AMG. The S cars are targeted to the same level as a 340/440 and the AMG Sport cars.

While my B8 is hands down a better overall car than my B7, I do lament the upgrade whenever I roll through a tunnel and rev it. The 3.0T sounds awful next to that glorious 4.2.

I think the interior is one of the worst parts of the B9 actually. They went with the tacked-on iPad look for the NAV screen instead of a integrated one like the B8, or a movable one like on the S3 and S6. That, coupled with the lack of a 6MT, is why when I’ve got an itch for a new car in a few years, I’ll “replace”

Except the S and the 335 were meant to be competitors. The RS is the M equivalent.

There was a B5 diesel A4 running where I used to live that was badged as an S4. Kid worked as a pizza delivery boy, so probably wasn’t making S4 money. Felt odd when I parked my debadged real S4 next to him in the parking lot.

This! I’ve noticed a few fake German cars while commuting home in Chicago. But when your BMW 550 only has one tailpipe, you’re not fooling me buddy.

Are the Warriors about to become the 2001 Mariners?

This!

Buying a used Audi, especially an S or RS model. What could go wrong?!?
