Some of the jumps in this game in first person were just assholian. Basically the equivalent of completing a system of blind leaps until you made it through.

Ever played a recent Tales game? Vesperia being my favorite I remember it the best, but it had an excellent world map I found charming without random encounters. The two design ideas are not exclusive. I also find games with a smaller scale “world map” design have a better sense of scale to their games. FFVII wasn’t

I suppose second hand is better than the idiots pirating games using “principles against practices” rhetoric as their excuse. See threads about XCOM2’s dlc for examples.
